UPDESKPro

UPDESK Pro Commercial-Grade Electric Adjustable Standing Desk is a revised product from the UpDesk company, based on an original design that they previously released. The previous model made by this company is known as UPDESK Ultra BevelUp Desk. The manufacturer has recently made some changes to their line of standing desks and now only offers two different varieties – including this one, the UPDESK Pro, along with a cheaper option that is now known as the UpDesk Home Electric Standing Desk.

The Pro version definitely has a few upgrades over the Home edition, but also comes at greater price. This makes it important for customers to carefully consider the two options if they are interested in buying from this brand, to ensure they do not overpay for a product that will not provide them with the features and space they need to do their work.

UPDESK Pro Commercial-Grade Electric Adjustable Standing Desk Review

UPDESK Pro is promoted as a higher-end product that offer customers the ability to switch between different heights with ease, ensuring going from sitting down to standing up while working can be done without having to move around computers or laptops, or even changing their location in the building they are working in.

The desk forms part of a new standing desk product range introduced by the UpDesk company and has several upgrades – not only compared to the previous version that the Pro desk is based on, but also compared to the other product that forms part of the new UpDesk standing desk series.

Surface Size

The Updesk Pro comes in two different sizes that customers can choose from, ensuring improved flexibility in terms of how much size is needed for the placement of laptops, printers, and other items that are needed while the desk is in use.

These two sizes include:
  • 30” x 60”
  • 30” x 72”

Even though this may add some flexibility in terms of the surface size available for keeping items on top of the desk, the sizes are still somewhat limited. This may be an unpleasant feature for many of the customers who do decide to invest in the table. The larger option, being the 30” x 72”, is also more expensive than the original 30” x 60” option. This makes the product even more expensive for the customer.

Lift System

The lift system equipped in UPDESK Pro is based on an electric motor. There is a dual-stage motor fitted – more particularly, a dual LINAK. This is a high-quality motor that is known to provide exceptional performance, and it should last a significant period of time – at least longer than some of the alternative tables with basic motor systems for the lifting system.

Adjusting the height of this standing desk is also fast and easy. The dual-stage motor system is able to provide a transit speed of approximately 1.6 inches per second. This is a significant upgrade from other models, and another added benefit would be the fact that the motor is not as noisy as some competitor standing desks on the market that offers a similar transit speed.

The company behind this electric adjustable standing desk also ensured that customers can adjust the height of the table easily. UpDesk has developed a mobile application that is compatible with Android and iOS smartphone devices. Once the application is downloaded to the customer’s smartphone, they can easily sync their smartphone with the standing desk through a Bluetooth connection.

The application can then be used to adjust the desk’s height through the integrated control system. The standing desk will respond to the buttons that the customer presses on the mobile application.

The minimum height of the UPDESK Pro is 23.5 inches. The desk can be adjusted to a max height of 49.5 inches. While this may not be as tall as some alternative options, it still provides adequate height for most people to stand up while working.

Quality

The overall quality of the UPDESK Pro Standing Desk is fair. There are some particular concerns that we did note when we reviewed the desk – we noted that while a fair amount of quality materials are used in the construction of the desk, the company did not ensure that the desk is sturdy enough.

There is too little metal in the actual frame of the desk. This can lead to a standing desk that wobbles with slight movements. For people who enjoy a cup of coffee while working, a second table that is sturdier may be required, as this particular standing desk may lead to frequent spills when coffee is placed on the table.

Warranty

In terms of concerns about the possibility of factory faults, customers should note that the product does come with a limited seven-year warranty. Any faults that occur that can be classified as a “factory” fault or a specific issue with the product, and not related to misuse by the customer, will be fixed at the manufacturer’s expense.

The Bottom Line

The UPDESK Pro Commercial-Grade Electric Adjustable Standing Desk has a few upgrades over previous models that were released by the UpDesk brand, but still has several limitations that should be taken into consideration when looking at the price of the desk. Many alternatives are available on the market at lower prices, yet with features that may be more ideal for office space.

Still, this particular standing desk has a few useful features, such as the ability to connect to the table via Bluetooth with a custom-developed mobile application. This makes adjusting the desk between a seated and a standing position as easy as pressing a button on a smartphone.
